Authorized Expert Activities
Authorized expert activities are carried out by specially qualified staff members of BCT in the scope of procedures according to the railway law:
- Preparation of authorized expert opinions according to § 31a of the railway law
- Preparation of check certificates according to § 34b of the railway law
- Execution of checks according to § 19a of the railway law
- Observation of functions allocated to persons registered according to § 40 of the railway law
- Independent assessment of risk management procedures according to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU)
No 402/2013

Out of a multitude of projects authorized expert activities were carried out for the following large-scale projects:

Construction works at the new main railway station in Vienna have already started early in 2010. In June 2011 the construction of the architecturally appealing rhombic roof, which will span the five island platforms of the modern traffic station, started.

Vienna’s Western railway station, terminal station of the western railway line and one of the most important traffic junctions in Austria, was reconstructed to the Station City Wien West.

Due to the Schengen Agreement as well as the operational requirements the railway station is upgraded to a through station as well as to a TEN junction.
